Display Bases
Finished three more display bases using the plastic ruins that come with one of the LoTR sets Games Workshop used to make.

Aragorn and Gimli
Had a blast painting up these two last week, really enjoyed the two figures. There is something about the LoTR figures that makes them easy to paint, maybe because they are true to scale and not overblown like most fantasy miniatures.

Defenders of Mirkwood
More Hobbit elves!
My first adventure with a figure cast in finecast and have to say it lives up to its nickname of "failcast". I found it a truly awful material to work in, I struggled at times to make out the details on the figure so while I do like the pose of the Ranger Captain I am disappointed overall with the sculpt.
Luckily Legolas and Tauriel were cast in metal and plastic respectively and turned out nicely though if I was doing Tauriel again I would custom build a base for her to fit in with the other figures.

Mirkwood Rangers (Part 2)
My second batch of Rangers is finished and very pleased with them I am too!
I asked for some advice on the net for taking photos and armed with a new app for my phone I think I have actually manged to do them justice!

Mirkwood Ranger
I have always love the world of Middle Earth created by Tolkien and the figures from the Hobbit movie are some of the best that GW was produced. I loved the Mirkwood Rangers as soon as I saw them and finally picked up a box last week.
This the first of them I have painted up and a very nice figure he is too.

Hroom, hm, come, my friends. The Ents are going to war. It is likely that we go to our doom. The last march of the Ents.
Treebeard is done (only took my 8 years or so)
Finally finished this fella (yes I say that a lot as I have a lot of unfinished stuff). I was always stumped by the base but think I finally got there with a new paint scheme and a lot better base than I usually do.
